ATooth!ATooth!ATooth!!

First of all, I need to show this picture of Hadley's war wounds. (I kept forgetting to pull it from the camera onto the computer. I finally did, so here it is.) He and Adelyn were playing across the step that goes from the kitchen to the play room a few weeks back and Adelyn got mad/frustrated with Hadley trying to take "her" toys, so she threw a wooden stool down the step at him. It got him right across the nose. He still has a slight scar.
Anyway, on to title-worthy news. (sadly, Hadley getting beat up by Adelyn is sort of common place)

I can't believe it, Hadley's first tooth just broke through!!! And we weren't even the ones to notice it. You can't blame us for that, though. Adelyn didn't get her first one 'till she was 17 months old, but I thought she had the "signs" of teething since she was 4 months old. It turns out those are just the "signs" of a 4-month-old. So, I've been completely ignoring said "signs" in Hadley assuming that he'd teeth around the same time as Adelyn. Actually, since you can't create an average with only one number, I had absolutely no clue as to when Hadley would teethe.

Anyway, last night we took the kids to my parents house so we could go play volleyball and basketball with our old and new wards. When we went back to pick them up, my mom asked me how long Hadley had had his tooth. That was a shock to me, and I asked, "What tooth?" So she laughed because she had found it before Curtis or me. It did seem strange that the last couple of nights he has woken up more but not wanted to eat every time, but won't let you lay him back in his bed. Curtis and I have each had a night where we slept on the couch with him in our arms. I think (hope) we would have figured it out eventually.

Yeah! Maybe he'll actually be able to eat carrot sticks and apple slices when he goes to nursery instead of just suck on them like Adelyn had to. Now I just hope he doesn't bite me since I'm still nursing him.

That is so crazy! I can't believe it took your kids so long to get teeth! In some ways, it's good, but in some ways, it was probably a pain, eh? But the first tooth is always exciting so yay for Hadley!

Yay!! Congrats on a tooth! Hopefully he doesn't bite you. Poor mommy and daddy waking up though!

Oh Elise, I miss you! You need to post more. It's so fun to hear what is going on and I love the way you write about things.

But anyway...that's awesome that you didn't even know he had a tooth! That is kind of how it was with Nathan, except Jeff found it and I had no idea it was there yet. Plus, Nathan got his teeth WAY early. It hasn't been too bad with nursing except when he is pulling off. Owie! Anyway, good luck!! Oh, and I am MAYBE coming to Utah in May, and if I do, we really need to set a time to get together!!! I'll keep you posted.

Hello! I read this post awhile back, and silently celebrated with you. (I should have posted, but apparently I did not.)

I wanted to thank you for your comments at Park Family Zoo. I wish for you to find some great neighborhood/ward friends soon. It makes such a big difference. Sorry I made ya a bit jealous.

(I have not been around blogspot long enough to know, had I written this as a comment to my own post, if you would have gotten it. Do you know?)
