This weekend and other ramblings

This weekend my cousin is getting married. I was really close to her when we were little, but now, not so much. She's been living with a guy for a few years now and his little girl might not be allowed to come to the wedding (long story). She's already been fitted as the flower girl and has already been given a job to do in the ceremony, so if she can't come Adelyn has been asked to be a substitute for her. (they're the same size) Wow, so we'll see how that goes this Saturday.

We brought our dog home a couple of weeks ago and were lucky enough to be able to change his name to one of our own picking. (he hadn't learned it yet) We've named him Koda (like the little bear on Brother Bear) and are starting to kennel/potty train him. It's a long process that usually takes 6 or so weeks. I wish it would be done in 6 or so days, I'm tired of the messes in his kennel and the poop in the yard, not where we want it. Anyway, overall he's a sweetheart and is quickly learning commands and his name... I just wish he'd learn even faster.

I'd like to congratulate my friend Michelle and her new baby boy, Nathan, and say I'm sorry you had to have surgery and so many other problems to get him here. I thought I'd have a hard time having kids and you'd have it easy... I was wrong and the situation seems to be somewhat reversed. So, I just have to say, good job "enduring to the end" (of one aspect of life, at least) and you'll love being a mom.

Krysta's wedding and other things

My sister Krysta got married June 13th. I did her hair for it, along with a few other people's. It was fun, albeit a very, very long day. I have to say it, because I'm so proud of myself... I made Adelyn's dress!! That was my first attempt at following a hard pattern and I'm so happy it worked! So here are some pictures for ya. (sorry the first one is sideways) 
I realized when I went to blog about the wedding that I didn't really take any pictures of the bride and groom... they were getting their pictures taken all day, I guess I didn't really think I needed to. So sorry you can't see them better!
Here's their get-away car... or so we thought. They actually traded it in for Jay's (that's Krysta's new husband) truck just a few blocks away from the reception. Those are post-it notes on it.
Adelyn wanted to help us. She ended up taking more off than anything else. We filled the inside of the car with balloons and when Krysta and Jay came out, they pulled them all out and let all the kids pop them. Adelyn had a blast.
Guess what?! (this, by the way, has nothing to do with the wedding) Hadley started rolling over last week! He's so cute!

Warning: Do not read this if you don't like band!

I just have to tell everyone, because I'm so excited. Corp Encore is coming to Weber State University this July. It's $12 for the cheap seats and I want to go. Curtis thinks that that is a terrible waste of money (you see, he wasn't in marching band, or even band, so he doesn't get it). I bet I could get him to let me go, but I wouldn't want to go alone. Anyway. If you don't know what Corp Encore is, it's just the coolest collection of marching bands competing against each other to prove who is the best. They can do maneuvers that are so complicated and yet look so easy. That's the part Curtis doesn't understand, since they make it look so easy, it must be. You've just got to appreciate a good marching band! (and he doesn't) :)
